Built in 2007, this striking farmhouse in the heart of Cascade was among the first newly constructed houses in the U.S. to be recognized as 'green' by the LEED for Homes pilot program. Featuring geothermal heat, SIPs panel insulation, full-house lighting control and a variety of additional sustainable features, the home was awarded Silver certification. (Today, it would classify as Platinum due to changes in rules regarding property size and distance to services.) The home has 4 bedrooms, 5 full baths, and a sprawling, 885 sq ft wraparound porch. With plans to spend their retirement here, the homeowners requested that an elevator shaft be incorporated into the home for future use. Complementing the 'suburban farmhouse' aesthetic: an unattached garage built to resemble a classic red barn.

"Scott is an engineer first so he understands the process involved in building. His team was professional, courteous and neat. They finished on time and on budget.... Overall the building process was one of the most fun experiences we could imagine." - homeowner
